Petsburg Animal Society: This is where Petsburg showcases
non-profit animal related organizations and provides you with a
zip code based search engine. You’re able to find an organization
nearby that deserves your support. And, if you don’t find
your favorite organization here, you’ll be able to send us
a suggestion for listing. We’ll do more than just provide
you with a search engine, however. We’ll extend our own hand
to these organizations. If someone clicks through to Petsburg from
the website of their favorite animal organization and becomes a
Resident, we’ll donate a portion of their first year’s
residency fee to that organization. |
Petsburg Times

The Petsburg Times: This is the town’s virtual newspaper.
It’s published
in the very best tradition of small town community papers. In addition
to the four feature columns each month, our regular columnists are
“Edna Cayce” a pet astrologer with a monthly pet horoscope;
“Dear Tabby”, an advice columnist with a sharp tongue
who answers a pet’s letter; “Jack’s Website Picks”,
a tech-head dog who surfs the net for interesting, educational,
and fun pet related web sites to pass on to his readers; “Dusty’s
Causes”, an animal welfare advocate who looks for interesting
fund raising events for pets and tells his readers how to support
the cause; “Spoiled Sammy’s Buy Me’s”, an
acquisition minded dog who spends his time hunting down fun toys
and gifts that he wants his humans to buy for him; and “Tucker’s
Sniffs”, a hound with a talented nose who sniffs out interesting
things going on in the Village of Petsburg and share them with his
readers.
Two additional features are available only to Petsburg Residents.
First is the “Community Calendar” where Residents from
all over the globe can post events in their various cities and invite
other Residents to participate. Events like “meet and greets”,
pet play dates, pet walking dates, picnics, fund-raisers, and more
are listed by Residents in their Community Calendar. The second
is the “Resident Announcements”. This is where exciting
pet related family events and announcements are posted, such as
“births” & “adoptions”. Everyone will
be able to find out what’s happening in the lives of their
neighbors and friends.

Petsburg Market Place

Petsburg MarketPlace:
Did your favorite groomer retire? Are you looking
for someone to pooper-scoop your back yard? Come to the MarketPlace and
search out these and many other products and services near you. And, if
you have a favorite store or service that isn't in our data base, feel
free to submit it for listing. Pet related business owners will be able to
"Open a Business" in Petsburg by submitting their listings, at no
charge, through the City Hall.

Petsburg Fun-Fur-All Social Club

Fun-Fur-All Social Club: Our Residents come here to hang out and
search or post their event announcements on the community bulletin
board. But the biggest crowd in the Fun-Fur-All Social Club, is
the Residents who’ve pulled up stools at the SinglesBark.
They would much rather make a romantic connection with someone who
understands and shares their love for their animal companions, than
waste time and money in those matchmaking web sites that don’t
focus on animal lovers. And the best part is, as a Petsburg Resident,
there is no additional fee for participation in the SinglesBark!

Petsburg City Hall

Petsburg City Hall:
This is the "move in" point of the community. It is here that you will register to become a Resident Member. By registering and completing your member profile you will be given an automatic 30 trial membership. Adding a photo to your profile at the time you register, will extend your membership automatically to 60 days. So have a nice photo of you, your pets, or you and your pets ready to upload. Your Resident Member profile is created in three phases. The General Resident profile that all Residents must have. Additionally, Residents who are interested in looking for romantic connections with other pet lovers, may choose to create a SinglesBark profile. Residents who wish to exchange their homes and pet care responsibilities with other Residents, may choose to create a Vacation Exchange profile. There are no additional dues for participating in the SinglesBark or Vacation Exchange, however only residents who have created profiles for these areas will have access their search functions. It is also in the City Hall, where residents will search the general profile data base for other residents; and businesses will be able to "Open a Business" by submitting their listings to our various business data bases.

Petsburg Post Office: This is where Residents can go to pick up
and send their e-mail. One of the benefits of being a Resident of
Petsburg is a fully functional e-mail system. Our Residents can
use it for communication within Petsburg alone, or as their general
e-mail address. Wouldn’t you rather have a unique @petsburg.com
address than a common everyday mail address like @hotmail, @yahoo
or @aol? |
Perked Ears Coffee Shop

Perked Ears Coffee Shop: This “coffee shop” is where
Residents gather to chat about mutual interests. It’s actually
“VillageTalk”, the town’s message board system.
The Petsburg.com staff has created more than 20 major board
topics. Residents are able to establish threads and post messages
relevant to those general topic categories. In addition to posting
text messages, Residents are able to include links and upload photographs
directly into their post. And, if you don’t find a general
board topic that fits your subject interest, just submit a recommendation.. |
Four Legs Will Travel

Four Legs Will Travel: Petsburg’s travel agency. As a Resident
of Petsburg, you can browse the brochure rack for links to pet friendly
hotels and vacation packages; find links to pet focused travel magazines;
and contact pet helpful travel agents.
It’s here in Four Legs Will Travel, that you can sit down
at a desk and create your own travel review. At the other desk,
those residents who have chosen to participate in Vacation Exchange
can create their profiles. For example, a Resident with a beachfront
home and two Labradors on Vancouver Island could exchange with a
Resident who has a high-rise condo, a Jack Russell, and two cats
in Manhattan. Imagine – no hotel bills; no worries about your
own animals while you’re away; and no homesickness because
you’ll have someone else’s animal companions to enjoy
on your vacation!
If you sit at the coffee table, you will be able to search through
other members travel reviews or find for just the right vacation
exchange profile.

PetSpa Wellness Center

PetSpa Wellness Center: Did your vet retire? Are you thinking
of trying acupuncture for your pet’s hip pain? How about massage
therapy? Residents visit PetSpa to search for anything animal health
related. In the PetSpa Library, you’ll find reviews of our
favorite books on pet health and wellness. In the Conference Room,
you can attend one of our regularly scheduled “virtual book
signing” events. The authors of our favorite books will be
guests in a live chat, telling you about their book and answering
your questions. When the chat is over, you’ll be able to order
an autographed copy of the book from the author if you like. |
PetPrints & Gifts

Pet Prints & Gifts: Five nationally recognized pet-focused artists
are featured in this gallery. It’s your site for creating
and sending electronic greeting cards. As a Resident, you’ll
be able to browse any of our artist’s individual galleries.
When you find a work of art you like, just select it and fill out
the form to create your own greeting card. After you send the card,
you can visit the artist’s web site to find out how to commission
a work for your own home or office. Additionally, you can send your
own image as a greeting. Upload your own pet’s pictures and
create custom greeting cards.
